Wu Junyong
Wu Junyong (born 1978) is a Chinese artist who specialises in printmaking and animation. He was born in Fujian province, and went to the China Academy of Art in 1998, graduating in 2000.
His work, particularly the Opera series (Opera I, II and III) are a satirical comment on politics. Although Junyong has lived and worked most of his life in China, and never travelled until 2007, he believes these comments are true of politicians and politics worldwide. He comments on the way that politicians promote themselves in a surreal way, often using signs and signals commonly used in Chinese literature and life.
